    Description of Italian National Institute of Health :

    The Istituto Superiore di Sanità is the Italian Public Health Research Centre appointed to The Ministry of Health to improve the quality of the welfare state. The Laboratory of Veterinary Medicine is charged with the risk assessment of zoonosic agents transmissible directly or via foods of animal origin, to humans; facilities are full- equipped laboratories for PCR and for recombinant DNA technology, microscopy for the analysis of feedingstuffs, diagnosis of TSE agents in animals specimens.
    Role :
  • PCR method : Testing the extent of reliable PCR detection of several DNA targets from MBM that followed well-defined heat-treatments and design of taxon-specific PCR procedures. Using of those procedures for the detection of DNA of terrestrial animal origin in compound feeds. Design of a multiplex assay to quantify the fragmentation of a specific target isolated from well-defined MBM samples.
