Description of The Laboratory : The
Plant Directorate is an institution under the Danish Ministry of Food,
Agriculture and Fisheries and its assignments covers legislation on
seed, feeding stuffs, plants/potatoes/fruit/vegetables, use of
fertiliser and establishment of vegetation cover, EU agricultural
schemes and organic farming. The Plant Directorate lays down
regulations, performs administrative functions, carries out inspections
and prepares legislation in its field of competence. The laboratory
analyses seed, feeding stuffs, plants and fertilisers on the basis of
legislation or on request. It develops official analytical methods and
is a reference laboratory. The Plant Directorate has a staff of 530.
